| Sumario: | The main purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between social values and political ideology among Córdoba’s citizens. In order to achieve that goal, a quoted sample for socioeconomic level, age and sex of 373 18 to 65 year old citizens of Córdoba was taken. The following instruments were applied to the selected participants: a) the Political Ideology Scale which considers situational positioning on the following specific topics: social politics, economics, sexuality, drugs, religion, ecology, safety, communication (Brussino, Imhoff, Rabbia and Paz García); and b) the Basic Values Questionnaire of Gouveia et al. (2008), which is composed by 18 values grouped in six general orientations. The obtained information was submitted to a correlational indicate that different ideological positions relate differentially analyzed with the social values of the citizens of Córdoba. In addition, multiple regression analysis performed by the method of successive steps was carried out. Results show the specific contribution made by social values to the explanation of the different ideological positions. |
