Sumario:In the context of cultural policies, multiculturalism hasbeen a discourse that has changed the strategies ofsectors ethnically differentiated in diverse latitudes ofthe world. Ethnic minorities like indigenous people, inColombia obtained formal vindications as a result ofthe contradictory process between indigenouscommunities and Indian policies established byColombian State. The strategies unfolded by theindigenous movement and those sectors of populationin process of re-indigenización converge, generally, inthree aspects: a politics of memory, an articulationbetween ethnic identity and territory that is based onessentialist approaches and, finally, an ecologicaldiscourse/praxis, where emerges the image of eco-nativo. This article describes the strategies that haveserved to privilege indigenous communities in times inwhich the cultural discrimination has been an effect ofthe policies promoted by Colombian State
