Sumario: | Poverty reduction, during long time has been one ofthe main objectives promoted by internationaldevelopment agencies. The World Bank and theInternational Monetary Fund (IMF) have recentlyproposed a new program namely the Poverty ReductionStrategies; the first and main step to carry on thisprogram is to design and write the fiPoverty ReductionStrategy Papersfl (PRSPs).This article presents a critical analysis on this programand its main mechanism to be implemented.In taking into account requirements and the scope of thisprogram this analysis points out that PRSPs couldbecome a strong interference mechanism in the internalpolicy of Third World countries.
