Sumario:For Bourdieu, the concept of habitus is essential in the consideration about central issues of political and educational theory. Topics as those of power, domination, legitimacy, State, social reproduction and the contribution in it of the scholar system, would request the use of that notion, able to surmount, in addition, the dichotomy between objectivism and subjectivism that characterizes social science. The present article displays the notion of habitus in the frame of the broader thinking of its author, attempting to formulate some critical considerations on the described theory, its limits and explanatory possibilities. In order to do so, it’s focused specially in the subjects of order, politics and body, closely bounded with it.
