| Sumario: | Through the concept of hegemony elements are given for a critique of globalization. Our aim is to show the contributions and limits of dominant thought in the realm of world economy. To the conceptual debate, we add the analysis of competition among transnational corporations in the information technologies sector and, more particulary, some remarks are made towards the implications these have for the Mexican economy and nation. |
