Sumario:The purpose of this paper is to analyze the specific features of the community dimension of the pedagogy of alternation, created in the 1930s by peasants in a region of southwestern France. We analysed ethnographic material generated in the years 2022 and 2023 with the Centros Educativos para la Producción Total (CEPT), schools in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, where the pedagogy of alternation is implemented. After conducting a theoretical review of concepts and experiences that gave rise to pedagogical practices linked to social transformation, both in Argentina and in Europe, we framed the pedagogy of alternation in the framework of "insurgent pedagogies". Methodologically, we worked with an ethnographic and collaborative approach and conducted an interpretative analysis of two specific instances of the fieldwork carried out with CEPTs in which students, teachers and other members of the rural community interact. We conclude that the articulation with diverse actors that are part of the territory and the capacity for creation are particular signs of the pedagogy of alternation. On the other hand, we emphasize that the practices that are put into play in this pedagogy are oriented towards the common.
