Sumario:In this article we will analyze how were the beginnings and development of the Normal of Paraná from its opening in 1871 to 1910. Throughout four sections we will observe, in the first, what was the content of the regulations that organized the normal course for men, at what time it was decided that it was mixed and the place that was assigned to the Americans in the establishment; then we will talk about the first students and the positions they held within the school; later, we will mention the impact caused by the elimination of scholarships for men in 1891; and finally, we will indicate the locations that the ministers gave to the graduates and in what sense they formed an important professional elite at the national level.
