After a while, thefarmersthathadsettledtheredecided to createanagriculturalcooperative and later, construct a dryingroomdue to themonopolythat “Martín y Cia” hadontheraw material acquisition. This paper analyses the factors that led to the launch of the “Cooperativa Agrícola de Oro Verde” and its development during the first years of operation until the setting up of the drying room and the installation of warehouses to stock up “yerba mate canchada”. The time frame covers from 1925 when the colony land was surveyed and the first Swissimmigrants settled, to the late 1940s and the consolidation of the cooperative’s dryingroom and the establishment of warehouses resulting in the end of the commercial relationship between “Cooperativa Agrícula Oro Verde” and “Martín y Cia.”. |
