Sumario:The present article aims at describing and analyzing the journeys made in the eastern region of the River Plate between 1802 and 1804 by Bishop Benito Lué y Riega and Tomás de Rocamora through their own records known as “The Holy and General Pastoral Visit of the Most Illustrious Bishop Benito Lué y Riega”, and the correspondence and “journey diaries”. This work explores the aims, scenarios and conflicts they encountered in both missions.
