The question that motivates this work is whether the State considered as an artifact also has this connection with other technologies, particularly with digital ones. We will analyze the problem through the thought of Hobbes and the Federalist to conclude with some reflections on political representation in the face of the massification of digital technologies. El desarrollo tecnológico tiene la peculiaridad de que tecnologías anteriores no solo son condición de posibilidad del surgimiento de otras nuevas, sino que muchas veces las antiguas tecnologías incorporan a las nuevas. La pregunta que origina el presente trabajo es si el Estado considerado como un artefacto también tiene este vínculo con otras tecnologías, y en particular con las digitales. Analizaremos el problema en el pensamiento de Hobbes y los federalistas para concluir con algunas reflexiones sobre la representación política ante la masificación de las tecnologías digitales. O desenvolvimento tecnológico tem a particularidade de que as tecnologias anteriores não são apenas uma condição de possibilidade para o surgimento de novas, mas também de que as tecnologias antigas muitas vezes incorporam novas. A questão que dá origem a este trabalho é se o Estado considerado como artefato também possui esse vínculo com outras tecnologias, e em especial com as digitais. Analisaremos o problema no pensamento de Hobbes e dos federalistas para concluir com algumas reflexões sobre a representação política face à massificação das tecnologias digitais.
