Sumario:Rural roads have aroused interest in the public agenda due to the recognition of the role that accessibility plays for economic activity and social inclusion. Based on this assumption and from the prism of history, the article proposes a promising research agenda: the social history of the rural road, from the intersection between the approaches of territoriality and mobility. In this line, it advocates the opening of social history to the rural road issue as a conditioning factor of social practices and relation and to isolation as a distinctive and relevant variant to address inequalities.
