| Sumario: | This article tries to visualize the experience of Lidia Cano (August, 3rd, 1932) in the construction of the memory of the braceros, Mexican workers who worked in the United States between 1942 and 1964, through a process of circular migration. The life history of Lidia and her leadership in the social movement for the return of the savings fund in the municipality of Empalme, Sonora, are studied through the category of analysis of political subjectivation. This cathegory allows us to see how her experience as a migrant woman is intertwined with the collective memory surrounding the hiring of braceros in Empalme and the erection of a statue to the temporary agricultural workers. |
