Los inventarios de bibliotecas nos brindan una panorámica de la cultura común a los mundos ibéricos; máxime si pertenecían a algún dignatario de renombre en la corte del rey. El autor de este artículo analiza varios cientos de títulos, dilucida sus ámbitos de saber y, finalmente, vincula estos últimos con el quehacer de su propietario don García de Avellaneda y Haro, segundo conde de Castrillo (1588-1670). Os inventários bibliotecários dão-nos uma visão geral da cultura comum aos mundos ibéricos; especialmente se pertencessem a um dignitário renomado na corte do rei. O autor deste artigo analisa várias centenas de títulos, elucida seus campos de conhecimento e, finalmente, os relaciona com a obra de seu proprietário, o senhor García de Avellaneda y Haro, segundo conde de Castrillo (1588-1670).
