Fernández Theater Politics Federalism 19th Century This article analyzes the dramatic production and interventions in the public debate of the federal publicist from Entre Ríos, Francisco Felipe Fernández, during the 1860s. It reconstructs his political career and analyzes his plays 25 de Mayo de 1810 and La Triple Alianza. It is concluded that the dramatic form was chosen by Fernández as an effective alternative to engage the popular sectors (gauchos and indigenous) and that the originality of his works consists in giving them prominence and considering them as political actors in contrast to the dominant conceptions among politicians and intellectuals of the time. Este artículo indaga sobre la producción dramática y las intervenciones en el debate público del publicista entrerriano federal Francisco Felipe Fernández, durante la década de 1860. Se reconstruye su trayectoria política y se analizan sus obras teatrales 25 de Mayo de 1810 y La Triple Alianza. Se concluye que la forma dramática fue elegida por Fernández como alternativa eficaz para involucrar a los sectores populares (gauchos e indígenas) y que la originalidad de sus obras consiste en darles protagonismo y de considerarlos como actores políticos legítimos en contraposición a las concepciones dominantes en los círculos políticos e intelectuales de la época. Este artigo investiga a produção dramática e as intervenções no debate público do publicitário de Entre Ríos, Francisco Felipe Fernández, durante a década de 1860. Sua carreira política é reconstruída e suas peças 25 de Mayo de 1810 e La Triple Alianza são analisadas. Conclui-se que a forma dramática foi escolhida por Fernández como uma alternativa eficaz para envolver os setores populares (gaúchos e indígenas) e que a originalidade de suas obras consiste em dar-lhes destaque e considerá-los como atores políticos legítimos em oposição às concepções dominantes nos círculos políticos e intelectuais da época.
