| Sumario: | This paper analyses the reforms promoted by the governors of the “Lencinismo” in the electoral laws of Mendoza Province between 1920 and 1927. It starts with the study of provincial law number 771, giving an account of its structure and main aspects. Then we examine its administrative regulations and other subsequent partial amendments introduced by the following governments up to 1927. Our interest is to address the course of local electoral law in the light of the disputes between local parties and the political-ideological cleavages of the twenties, providing a medium-term view of the worldview of the “radical-lencinista” leadership about democracy and its procedures. |
