Furthermore, the conditions of the appointment, the tasks in Castile and the Commissioner’s wealth and economic activity allow us to understand that, by representing the royal magistrates, Dr Hernán Carrillo Altamirano represented the interests of his realm and in which the judge’s authority rested. Finally, the case provides elements on the diversity of agents concurred in the royal courts. La extraordinaria actividad de un comisionado de la Audiencia Real de México enviado a la corte de Madrid revela los matices y complejidades del gobierno de la justicia en las Indias Occidentales durante el siglo XVII. Las condiciones del nombramiento, las tareas en Castilla y los bienes y actividades económicas del comisionado, permiten comprender que, al representar a los magistrados reales, el doctor Hernán Carrillo Altamirano representaba los intereses del reino al que pertenecía y en los que se fincaba la autoridad de los oidores. Finalmente, el caso aporta elementos sobre la diversidad de agentes concurrían en las cortes reales.
