Sumario:This paper researches into the political imaginary involved in the Río de la Plata territory during the English invasions as well as the crisis produced by Napoleon in the Spanish Metropolis. An attempt is made to visualize the networks that sustained the autonomy projects of the colonies from the Peninsula, which were governed by the Cabildo in every jurisdiction. The analysis of the institutional performance of Ambrosio Funes allows access to a complex system of thought and action in which loyalty to the dynasty coexisted with the reformulation of the government of the territories of the monarchy.
