The articles that make up the dossier suggest that the concept of “University Reform” quickly acquired a political use. In the words of the historian Melvin Richter (2000), it became a “properly political” notion (p. 138). That is to say, a concept that defines its meaning in the controversy and whose very meaning derives precisely from the fact of being subjected to the discussion from different positions and both ideological and identity aspects. From this point of view, the present dossier aims to explore some of these representations, appropriations and political uses. El texto se interroga acerca de la pervivencia y la naturaleza de las múltiples y por momentos antagónicas representaciones sobre el reformismo universitario a lo largo del siglo XX. Los artículos reunidos en el dossier, sugieren que, más allá de sus respectivos anclajes, el concepto de “Reforma Universitaria” adquirió rápidamente un uso político, deviniendo, en palabras del historiador Melvin Richter (2000), una noción “propiamente política” (p. 138). Esto es, un concepto que define su significado en la controversia y cuyo sentido deriva del propio hecho de estar sometido a la discusión desde diferentes posicionamientos y vertientes ideológicas e identitarias. En esta clave, el presente dossier se propone recorrer algunas de esas representaciones, apropiaciones y usos políticos.
