En 2015 Tim Hunt, Premio Nobel de Medicina en 2001, sostuvo que los laboratorios no eran lugares apropiados para la convivencia de los sexos. Según el bioquímico británico esta relación trae como consecuencia que “ellas se enamoran de uno, uno se enamora de ellas y cuando se las critica, lloran”. Estas recientes palabras dejan entrever un sistema social sustentado por la dominación de los varones sobre las mujeres y un esquema de cientificidad masculinizado. Esta dramática actualidad de comentarios misóginos de encumbrados científicos nos interpela para reflexionar sobre las diferentes aristas que nos brindan la multiplicidad de fuentes y marcos teóricos en pos de lograr la equidad de género, en esta oportunidad, en la ciencia.
