| Sumario: | Landscapes of the Past is a book whose content is informed by the research experience carried out by Argentine historian Mirta Lobato and British historian Daniel James. The two crossed paths on the streets and in the archives of Berisso, a city adjacent to the capital of the province of Buenos Aires, La Plata. During these journeys, among other works, she published in 2001 Life in the Factories: Work, Protest, and Politics in a Working-Class Community, Berisso, 1904-1970, while he did the same with Doña María: A History of Life, Memory, and Political Identity, published in 2004. The two books, in addition to being contributions to the study of the labor movement in Argentina, recover notes from a long-term work in which they established theoretical and heuristic dialogues. |
