| Sumario: | The work studies, in a comparative perspective and through various specialized authors, a group of leaders from nine Argentine provinces between 1860 and 1890. The general objectives are to reconstruct their social, economic and political profile, and to make visible the role they played in the consolidation of the national state. It focuses on the origin and nature of the capital (economic, intellectual, relational) necessary to access different instances of the provincial and national executive power, the judiciary and the legislative chambers, it addresses different situations in which these subjects appealed to journalism, weapons, their networks, political clubs and various cultural associations, to cement their trajectories. One of his main hypotheses is that, as the 19th century progressed, political power split from the economic elites. |
