| Sumario: | The problem of minority, as one of the most visible aspects of the social question during the early twentieth century, called for modes of intervention that would allow serving the large number of children and young people who were outside the parameters of family and school support. The option of incorporating these minors into the productive circuit was reflected in two projects that would give rise to the first arts and crafts schools in Córdoba. In a context marked by the absence of the state in the resolution of social imbalances, the achievement of this task saw the convergence of the action of civil associations with a strong religious stamp and the reactive policies of a liberal state that appealed to charity and private welfare to neutralize the unwanted costs of modernization. |
