Sumario:This article aims to study the ways childhood were represented in La Nueva Era, a prominent and durable local newspaper of North Patagonia region during Peronism (1946-1955), when the motto of children as the "only privileged" was in full force. The scenario is Viedma-Carmen de Patagones (Río Negro-Buenos Aires), where a capital of province and a bordering city collide in their similarities and particularities. The analysis allows us to understand that the attention to these subjects was structured from a center, surrounded by various borders, that organized meanings on children's lives —as exemplary or marginal— in the region and beyond. Finally, based on these characterizations, a path is opened to reflect —from an off-center historical perspective— on the circumstances that surrounded those infantile lives embedded in spaces far from the Federal Capital, or other great cities of the region.
