Original and published sources produced by the central government are used to show how the institutional work was mainly oriented to the public work and the accumulation of blueprints and sketches that “produced” the provincial space. However, this did not have an effective impact on the building of a registry with tax purposes. Compared to contemporary cases, this one shows how the bureaucratic area that was meant to provide informational capital to the provincial States actually developed different dynamics according to the material and human resources, meeting specific contextual needs.
