We will study two administrative management considered paradigmatic in terms of institutional reform: argentinian Alejandra Gils Carbó (2012-2017), and uruguayan Jorge Díaz (2012-present). The objective of this work is providing conceptual tools to analyse sociologically Public Justice policies. The chosen methodology is qualitative: conducting interviews, analyzing documents and secondary sources. The comparative perspective allows contextualizing the importance of institutional changes proposed by general attorneys. Beyond a common paradigm in the region favorable to reform Justice administration systems, the result of this research shows some divergences in key aspects on each country. This features may lead to an investigation on the cultural dimension that underlies judicial work and thinking. En el marco de los estudios sociales sobre la justicia y el derecho, este artículo se centra en el área ejecutiva de los organismos que nuclean a los fiscales en Argentina y Uruguay, la Procuración General de la Nación (PGN) y la Fiscalía General de la Nación (FGN), respectivamente. Se estudian en particular dos gestiones consideradas paradigmáticas en términos de reforma institucional: la de la procuradora argentina Alejandra Gils Carbó (2012-2017) y la del fiscal general uruguayo Jorge Díaz (2012-actualidad). El objetivo de este trabajo es brindar algunas herramientas conceptuales para pensar sociológicamente las políticas públicas de justicia. La metodología elegida es cualitativa: realización de entrevistas, análisis de documentos y fuentes secundarias. La perspectiva comparativa permite contextualizar la importancia de los cambios institucionales propuestos por estas gestiones. Más allá de un paradigma común en la región, favorable a la necesidad de cambios en el sistema de administración de la justicia en general, el resultado de la investigación muestra algunas divergencias en aspectos claves de las reformas en cada país que pueden llevar a indagar la dimensión cultural que subyace al quehacer y pensar judicial.
