Este trabajo parte de revisar la representación del territorio realizada por Sarmiento en Facundo [1845], y a partir del concepto de movimiento, desarrollar como éste funciona para la interpretación de la realidad nacional. La ciudad funciona con relación al movimiento, y es partir de ella que podemos vincular la perspectiva de Sarmiento con la recreación del territorio urbano en la narrativa naturalista, para ver cómo el movimiento opera en ella. Este trabalho parte da revisão da representação do território feita por Sarmiento em Facundo [1845] e, a partir do conceito de movimento, desenvolve como ele funciona para a interpretação da realidade nacional. A cidade funciona em relação ao movimento, e é a partir daí que podemos relacionar a perspectiva de Sarmiento com a recriação do território urbano na narrativa naturalista, para ver como o movimento opera nele.
