Sumario:The following article deals with the famous question of man as a political animal (ζῷον πολιτικόν), that emerges from the ethical-political (Politics) and the biological works (History of Animals) of Aristotle. Taking into account the problems with the main interpretations of this issue, we try to link the problem of human politics with that of community (κοινωνία), to which man also belongs: in fact, the human being is a ζῷον πολιτικόν because he is a ζῷον κοινωνικόν.
