This paper identifies different phases in the awareness, perception, and attention given to violence against children and infants perpetrated by state terrorism in Argentina. It argues that, in this process, the visibility of children and infants increased, reaching a turning point with the International Year of the Child in 1979. These stages were an initial moment of visibility and problematization about the place of children under repression, which is still an open and challenging issue today. Este artículo analiza el lugar de la niñez en las acciones e intervenciones políticas y simbólicas de Amnesty International, organización crucial en la expansión del paradigma de los derechos humanos a escala global, en los años 70. Identifica las diferentes etapas del proceso de conocimiento, percepción y atención ante la violencia ejercida contra niños y bebés por el terrorismo de Estado en Argentina. Sostiene que en esos años se produjo un reconocimiento creciente de la niñez en las denuncias del sistema de derechos humanos, surgido en el cruce de la sensibilidad hacia la infancia, las estrategias de denuncia y la agenda del Año Internacional de la Infancia de 1979. Entiende que tales etapas constituyen un momento inicial de visibilidad de la condición de los bebés y niños/as que sufrieron la represión de Estado, un reclamo que está abierto y tiene gran relevancia en la actualidad.
