The study focuses on three key aspects of the relationship between the labor movement and the left. First, it explores the history of communist unionism, which has deep roots in an industry that became one of its main strongholds since the establishment of the National Construction Workers' Federation (FONC) in 1936. Second, it delves into the nature of the relationship between traditional leftist movements and Peronism within unions. Finally, it engages with historiographical debates on the old and new generations of union leaders who played an active role in the Resistance between 1955 and 1959/60.
