Despite the fact that there is important research on the Arab migratory process in Patagonia, most of these antecedents have focused on reconstructing the trajectories of men. It is argued that although Syrian-Lebanese women had low visibility in the archives, they were keys to the migratory success of the group of their compatriots. Although during the study period these women were subjugated by an eminently patriarchal order, they gradually obtained greater margins of autonomy. En este artículo se propone historiar las experiencias migratorias de las mujeres sirio-libanesas en el norte de Chubut y en el sur de Río Negro, durante la primera mitad del siglo XX. Pese a que existen importantes investigaciones sobre el proceso migratorio árabe en Patagonia, la mayor parte de esos antecedentes se han concentrado en reconstruir las trayectorias de los varones. Se argumenta que aunque las mujeres sirio-libanesas tuvieron baja visibilidad en los archivos, fueron claves para el éxito migratorio del grupo de sus connacionales. Si bien durante el período de estudio estas mujeres estuvieron sometidas por un orden eminentemente patriarcal, gradualmente fueron obteniendo mayores márgenes de autonomía.
