| Sumario: | The hydrodynamic simulation of the Parana River in the reach km 232-480 during the low flows years 2020-2022 is presented. The simulations were carried out by using a reduced complexity quasi-2D hydrodynamic model, appropriated to represent the evolution of water level, discharge and depth integrated mean flow velocity in the modeled domain discretized with 100 m x 100 m grid cells. In the modeled river reach there is an important port infrastructure, so hydrodynamic simulations are of interest to contribute to the planning of anthropogenic activities and the hydro-environmental evaluation of the use, control and management of water resources. During the period of time simulated in this study, discharges between 6800 m3/s and 16000 m3/s were observed, corresponding to the three-year period with the lowest drained volume registered in the modern series of water levels from 1971 to date. The series of mean daily discharges were assigned as the upstream boundary condition. In order to evaluate the quality of the simulation, daily water levels observed and calculated in the hydrometers at 6 sites were compared: Puerto San Martín (km 448), Rosario (km 416), Villa Constitución (km 368), San Nicolás (km 353), Ramallo (km 325) y San Pedro (km 276). Moreover, maximum, minimum and average values of water levels and amplitude of the range of variation were evaluated. In addition, the duration of water levels and stage-flow relationships in the 6 sites were compared. In the comprehensiveness of the adjustment achieved, the results can be described as very good. |
