Sumario:Studies of different physicochemical aspects from water and sediments of pampasic ponds seem to be an adequate tool to interpret their different biological phenomena. La Peregrina, La Brava and De los Padres are ponds located very next one to each other, in the highland area of Buenos Aires province. Their drainage area has an intense farming activity and pronounced slopes with respect to other pampasic ponds, condition that offers them a differential characteristic. The objective is to assess the quality and the trophic state of the three mentioned ponds, tying physicochemical and biological aspects of water and sediments. The ponds are alkaline, oligohalines and present a high eutrophic state. The high turbidity observed is of organic origin. Some parameters do not fulfill the limits established for different uses. The high quantity of nutrients in sediments influences the dynamic of ponds.
