| Sumario: | The objective of the role of defense in a context of uncertainty is a matter of political and academic dispute, which recognizes that the international order is volatile and precarious. This situation places us before a series of new issues, forcing us to rethink whether a country like Argentina, which is no longer a middle-class power, requires a national defense system. Even in the face of a little-analyzed advance, it is worth reflecting on whether new threats such as terrorism or organized crime are best combated with the armed forces or the police system. This is a critical issue, given that the current Argentine government is leading to a hyper-securitization of the economic and social agenda and an erroneous use of the defense system. |
