Sumario:The challenges that Argentina faces in the international security scenario of the XXI century are of considerable magnitude given the need to clean up the National Defense System. Although the transition to democracy favored a process of building civil supremacy over the Armed Forces, it is difficult to affirm the same with regard to the political leadership of Defense in terms of the recomposition of the sector and an autonomous external insertion. In this context, it is important to examine the defense management carried out by national governments. This explains why this article, devoted to the review of the December 2019-2021 period, supports the idea that during the first two years of the government of the Frente de Todos the guiding criteria was the re-hierarchy of the sector and the deployment of a multilateral activism. The research is through a qualitative methodology with an extensive empirical collection concretized from the survey of primary sources of information, and backed up by the review of secondary sources.
