Berû: : When the troops are hungry. Case studies based on the documentation of the royal archives of Mari from the Old Babylonian period (ca. XIX-XVIII B.C.)
The aim of this paper is to analyse the cases of food shortage or famines in armies through the letters of the Royal Archives of Mari. Thus, we also aim to look for their possible causes and consequences, and the strategies employed to avoid these situations.
