| Sumario: | A snapshot of Ghana in 2022, as an example of today's African republics, shows us the uniqueness of its path, difficulties in consolidating the Nation-state and sovereignty achieved decades ago, as well as some complex elements whose understanding can be modified if we partially change the perspective, incorporate the imperial dimension and inscribe the process of formal political independence in a long-term view. This implies thinking about the history of modes of production in a different way and highlighting the elements of neo-colonial continuity. This approach may help to understand the traces of the common narrative of the independence leaders that insists on Africanness and African values as a form of cultural resistance and a foundation for the future they were helping to build. |
