| Sumario: | This article is part of the research project “Reconfigurations of Professional Social Work Interventions in Metropolitan Health Institutions during the COVID-19 Pandemic” (PRI-TS-UBA). The objective is to analyze social intervention processes in the health sector in the context of the pandemic (2020-2021), focusing on the experiences of social workers in hospitals in the southern part of Buenos Aires. This article focuses on the impact the health crisis had on health institutions and how social work integrates and constructs the institutions in which they work. In this way, the proposal addresses two analytical tensions: state bureaucratization and professional intervention processes influenced by heroic subjectivity. Based on interviews with professionals, the article reflects on the relative autonomy in intervention processes, understanding that this autonomy must be analyzed in conjunction with the experiences of professional practice and the institutional structures that frame them. |
