Sumario:The purpose of this article is to briefly point out the contributions public policy analysis and policy reflections can make to the understanding of Mental Health Law N° 26.657, as we are convinced that the law's approval opens a disputed field and requires us to think of a public policy Program that contributes to the resolution of current Psychiatrical problems. These points are made from three elements of analysis: the State, Politics and Madness, from a comparison between neoliberalism and post-neoliberalism in our country. We intend to make a contribution to our discipline that collaborates reflection and commitment with the urgent need of psychiatric reform in Argentina, using deinstitutionalization as a guide.
