Sumario:In this article we analyze the way in which certain institutional practices deter- mine, along with other dimensions, mo- dalities of subjective suffering of young men from the popular sectors of the city of Santa Fe. Taking as a starting point our territorial work with groups of young people from different neighborhoods, we will investigate from a mental health perspective the exposure of this population to situations of daily violence, placing the problem as an intersection of different dimensions that we will try to explore. We will analyze the relationships between some determinants in the subject who daily puts his life and freedom at risk. This analysis will serve as an input to think about how to build care practices. The historicization of public policies aimed at young men will allow us to situate them not as a mere context of the unique vicissitudes of young people, but as the foundations of social and institutional practices that from their effects have a structuring effect on subjectivity.
