| Sumario: | In this article I present a study on the automatic generation of paraphrases corresponding to a Quechua transitive phrase. Using the transformation engine of the NooJ linguistic platform and the morpho-syntactic properties of Quechua suffixes, I first constructed the rules corresponding to elementary transformations. Then I describe in detail some grammars that perform elementary pronominalization, reduction, passivation and argument permutation, as well as some other transformations. Next I show how these elementary transformations can be combined to obtain complex transformations; in particular, I present a paraphraser capable of generating about a million paraphrases for a transitive sentiment phrase such as Roberto loves Rosa. Finally, I show a special subclass of transformations that allow us to automatically obtain the translation of certain Quechua transitive phrases into Spanish |
