Sumario:This article aims to analize the writings of Mary Wollstonecraft considering history, gender and the affect theory. The objective is to cope with interpretations that have been made about the author from the feminist theory and movement based on the maternalist path towards women's citizenship. In this sense, and by revising the variety of her writings, we seek to problematize the Wollstonecraft Dilemma proposed by Carole Pateman, reducing the “dilemma” in the works of this enlightenment thinker, which are linked to sexual difference and motherhood.
