description Lilián Celiberti is a Uruguayan feminist and a Democracy and Human Rights activist in Uruguay and Latin America. She was a student activist in the 1970s and faced the military dictatorship in her country and in Brazil. She was persecuted, detained, tortured and imprisoned. After her release, she was able to go into exile in Milan (Italy), where she became aware of European feminism. With the return of democracy, Celiberti founded the Cotidiano Mujer collective in 1985, from which she has worked on various topics based on gender equality and women's rights. She participated in different projects at the national, regional, and global levels. She is the author of numerous essays and academic articles. In this interview, she talks about her feminist activism, about her political trajectory, the place that occupies the dialogue between Latin American feminisms. Moreover, she mentions the relationship between the ecological and feminist dimensions in the expansion of the economic extractivism present in the the region. Also, she comments on care as an instance of ethics and the potential of feminisms to consider the future.

Tras su liberación, pudo exiliarse en Milán (Italia), donde se acercó al feminismo europeo. Con el retorno de la democracia, Celiberti fundó en 1985 el colectivo Cotidiano Mujer, desde la cual ha trabajado diversos temas sobre la igualdad de género y los derechos de las mujeres, y participado de distintos proyectos a nivel nacional y regional, y global. Es autora de numerosos ensayos y artículos académicos.
