Sumario:The ways in which the Catholic Church intervenes in debatesabout abortion and sexual and reproductive healthrequires the need tocomplicate the analysis perspectivesin order to observe the capacityof the institution to assert its thought and doctrine in the emergence ofnew actors, practices and discourses.The movement of secular pro-lifebecame one of the most significant social and political phenomenaofCatholicism in recent times. The political and oppositional discourseof ecclesiastical actorsand the socio-collective practices that pro-lifeactivists perform in the public spheretend to block and retract theactions of feminist groups.The aim of this paper is to analyze thetransformationsthat the Catholic Churchcomes realizing of its messageopponent to the abortion by means of the instrumentation of speeches and practices of secular order. That is, the constructions of a defense discourse of “the right to life unborn” as from entanglement between religious and scientificbioethical arguments.
