Sumario:In this work we seek to systematize the functions that utopia has, from the point of view of literary discourse and how they are reflected throughout the text The fall of the eagle by Carlos Gagini. In addition, it is analyzed how, from these functions, the construction of utopian spaces is possible, such as the Isla del Coco, in which the author's wishes for the unification of the Central American region and its technological development are manifested.
