Therefore, there is not enough the definition of Historical Archaeology as the study of the records that possess a small or wide magnitude of associate documentation because, for example, there exist those that in rural context do not have them and, probably, they will never have them. Our suggestion - already distant in the time - not always has application. Checking then the concepts, we examine a site with pre-Hispanic and historical stratification located in the left bank of the river Piedra Blanca, top basin of the Cuarto river, Province of Cordoba, Argentina. The rural way of life can have effects not only the stratigraphic general resolution of the archaeological site but also on the historical and historiographic identification of a region. We present Tres Cascadas as a case in the mountainous environment of Sierra de Comechingones. Los vestigios arqueológicos que contienen los paisajes regionales en todas partes del mundo representan, en la realidad y siempre y cuando se les reconozca, una parte o también la suma de los múltiples pasados de la historia y la diversidad social y cultural que desarrolla la humanidad. Por lo tanto, no basta la definición de Arqueología Histórica como el estudio de los registros que poseen una magnitud pequeña o amplia de documentación asociada porque, por ejemplo, existen aquellos que en contexto rural no los tienen y, probablemente, nunca los tendrán. Nuestra sugerencia -ya lejana en el tiempo- no siempre tiene aplicación. Revisando entonces los conceptos, examinamos un sitio con estratificación prehispánica e histórica ubicado en la ribera izquierda del río Piedra Blanca, cuenca superior del río Cuarto, Provincia de Córdoba, Argentina. La ruralidad puede tener efectos difuminadores sobre no solamente la resolución estratigráfica general del sitio arqueológico sino también sobre la identificación histórica e historiográfica de una región.
