Sumario:The hypothesis is raised of the possible existence of a Pre-Columbian settlement in the place where Juan de Garay settled in 1580, and possibly Pedro de Mendoza before. Although a significant number of pre- and post-Hispanic objects have been found in the central and southern area of ​​that enclosure, the state of destruction of the downtown city subsoil has made it almost impossible to find preserved contexts from that chronology.
