Descripción
Sumario:This article addresses the anthropological experience with the recognition of indigenous lands in Brazil as a paradigm for the formulation of intercultural public policies. Based on the Brazilian case, it seeks to demonstrate how public anthropology operationalizes discursive ethics in interethnic dialogue in order to enable greater indigenous participation in the administrative processes of demarcation of indigenous lands, understood in the broader context of patrimonialization of indigenous cultures. The objective of the article is to raise awareness among state agents and, more particularly, public policy managers, of the heterodox mode of anthropological practice within the scope of public policy of territorial recognition, which may benefit other public policies and administrative and legal processes of operationalization of the rights of indigenous peoples.
