Sumario:In this article, we seek to show the progress of an emerging investigation work that target mainly the process of discourse building, leading to the establishment in historical memory as a massacre of the November 22, 1861 military clash between the Buenos Aires and Argentine Confederation armies in the Cañada de Gómez. To this end, we established an interdisciplinary methodology where history, archaeology and anthropology interact. While becoming familiar with the investigation topic, this interdisciplinary study became necessary to take into account a greater number of interconnected lines of evidence and thereby getting answers to the questions and hypotheses that come up in a conflict. Consequently, these three disciplines join together, given that the marks of battle aren't present only in sources or excavations. They're also deposited above or below the visible landscape and they continue to function in a convincing manner as symbols and memories of past identity developments. We will share with you the characteristics and difficulties inherent to this topic.
