| Sumario: | Gender violence is considered a public health and human rights problem. Based on its accession to different international treaties, Argentina proposes to carry out a comprehensive approach on assisting women in situations of gender-based violence. However, it is observed that the policies designed and implemented do not reach all women, given their urban-centric bias, which translates into poor attention on women in rural areas. For this reason, we have been doing a postdoctoral study in the province of Buenos Aires on the characteristics of this violence in rural communities and the interventions that the State and social organizations carry out. This is a qualitative research that, from a decolonial feminist perspective, proposes a psychosocial approach to violence in rural contexts in order to contribute to the design of policies and provide an effective response. In this article we will focus on the analysis of presentations and reports of public policies designed during the last decade. The analysis shows the specificity of gender-based violence in rural areas associated with their geoterritorial and socioeconomic characteristics that must be taken into account in the comprehensive approach to violence in these communities. |
