Sumario:In this article we expose the analysis of the institution known as “mission” or “missional work” which is formed by proselytizing practices carried out by young members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The empirical reference of this work is the local congregation from San Lorenzo city, province of Santa Fe. This analysis is based upon the structuralist methodology proposed by Claude Lévi-Strauss. Additionally, we show a series of more general theoretical implications. According to the chosen methodology, the overall objective of this work is to account for underlying properties of the analyzed institution. With this purpose, we appeal to construct a qualitative explanatory model. Thus, it seeks to transcend both the level of mere empirical description and the interpretation of the specific case.
